Chamber Music by Candlelight at Tryon Palace

For the second year, Brierwood Ensemble ushers in the Christmas season with a performance of Chamber Music by Candlelight at historic Tryon Palace in New Bern, NC. This limited-seating event takes place in the Palace Council Chamber and boasts a superb acoustic experience.

This year’s program includes Caroline Lizotte’s lullaby La Madone for solo harp, Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Noëls sur les instruments, Jean-Marie Leclair’s Sonata in E minor for two violins, Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre’s Trio Sonata No. 4 in C minor, and excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.

Join your fellow audience members and musicians for a post-concert reception at the Commission House, featuring festive beverages and delicious treats. Palace doors will open at 6:30PM. Please enter the grounds through the gate located on Eden Street.

Tickets are nonrefundable. Due to the nature of the performance space, there will be no late admittance.

Tryon Palace Foundation Member pre-sale will take place Monday, September 30 - Friday, October 4. Foundation pre-sale tickets will be available to purchase in-person at the North Carolina History Center, located at 529 S. Front Street, or by calling 252-639-3524. Pre-sale tickets will be available from Monday, September 30 to Friday, October 4, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You must be an active member to be eligible for Foundation pre-sale tickets. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Monday, October 7 and will end Sunday, December 1 at 11:59 p.m.
